New secure facillity for the rehabilitation of underage delinquents.
This project deals with the creation of a totally new building type for the housing of juvenile detainees and offenders under the age of 18 in a setting which is secure and highly vandal resistant while offering a full range of facilities and programmes in areas of education, vocational training, recreation and health care.
In addition, the design concept ensures that the resulting facility will be of a world class character with a design that is residential in character, while maintaining an appropriate level of security.
The design and construction is based upon contemporary unit management principles which permit the greatest degree of flexibility in the facility operations while minimizing the costs associated with maintenance and operations by way of efficient space planning.
